The lake is a favorite among locals for its shoreline restaurants, fishing spots, swimming areas, and cold drinks. Perfect for families, this is a casual cycle out of the city. Feel free to bring your swim gear if you want to take a dip in the lake! After a customary ride around the lake and a hearty lunch, we’ll head back on a brand new bike lane, weaving through the small alleys of Chiang Mai. This was an excellent bike ride up to the lake, our guide Ay was super friendly and brightened the day even more. The bike ride was low in difficulty however it is is not for absolute beginners, you will be cycling for at least a few hours.

I was upgraded to another tour, much more challenging but I loved it! Be sure to check the level of your bike ride because the one I ended up on was well above other peoples level in my group, ( my original choice sounded much more sedate 🤣) but luckily there were alternative rides offered. Sticky waterfall is worth a visit for sure but the muddy mountain bike ride was my highlight. Great tour guides too.

What a great day spent with Jay, our guide who spoke great English and answered our endless questions. We choose the easy family ride which involved being driven to the top of Doi Pui. We cruised down the mountain stopping at a Hill Tribe village, beautiful Wat Suthep Temple and delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Did we mention that Jay is a world recognised trail runner! such a fun day.

We had a great time last November doing a small cycling trip to Huay Tung Tao. We had a group of about 20 students. The bikes were all in a good condition, set up individually for all our students. We cycled to the lake and around it, then took a rest and ate lunch at one of the many restaurants overlooking the lake. Once we recharged a little, we made our way back to the Convention Centre. I hope we can do it again soon, thanks!

If you're looking for a gentle explore of Chiangmai and the surrounding area then this is the trip for you. We were a group of four 'over 50's & 60's' and were collected by local taxi from our hotel, as arranged and taken to the company shop for a briefing and fitting of safety equipment and bikes. All equipment was first rate and once finished, the helmets and gloves were taken to be washed. Our guide was 'Jane' and we can not recommend him highly enough. He was brilliant ! He explained so much about the area, the Thai people and the countryside as we gently peddled through it. Included in the tour was a lovely Thai lunch and at the end a taxi back to our hotel. An excellent day, highly recommended.

Booked a 1/2 day trip to Huay Tung Tao lake. Bicycle and safety hrlmet condition barely average. Counter service staff below average. Thankfully Guide service is good. Lake is nice and very relaxing. About 40% of journey was among motor traffic so its not suitable for children and inexperienced cyclists.

3 of us cycled with one guide through the streets of Chiang Mai & up to Lake Tung Thao, a 30 km ride. We were picked up from our hotel & taken to the bike shop. We rode a steady pace, stopping frequently for water stops & to learn about temples en-route from our guide. Arrival at the lake involved lunch cooked for us at the cafe& sitting in an open bamboo hut on the waters edge with the mountains in the background. Our guide, Jen, spoke & understood a good level of English. He was extremely health & safety conscious when we rode through the busy city streets, giving clear instructions & whistling at other road users to alert them that we were coming through. An excellent day seeing Chiang Mai from a different perspective.

Thanks for the 3 professionals who guided us the team of 5 bikers. I was the slowest, the worst and the most stupid bikers on Tour #7 (6 November 2013). The guides were extremely patient, caring and motivating. Thanks the team at Chiang Mai Mountain Biking & Kayaks who gave me a great biking experience.

We took the route 7 I think which was suitable for us as we have 2 kids, aged 8 and 11. The bikes have been well used and could probably be better but it didnt matter since our guide Leik (spelling?) was ready to fix and tune them on route. The pick up car was never too far which meant you could leave your heavy things or water in the car. It was also reassuring with kids, in case something went wrong with them. The route was varied and it included a simple yet nice lunch at a local rural place. Leik was very friendly and attentive and encouraged the kids as we went along, helped our son go up the hill and taught the kids a few bike tricks as well. By the way, he spoke very good english as well as some french. We had a great day!

We chose the 7b route which promised us a walk in nature and around a lake. Unfortunately 3/4 of the circuit takes place in the city and on the edge of a four-lane. The drop point is nice but overall this circuit is too expensive.
